We love phone calls, words of encouragement, and mail.
If you need ideas for what to include in a care package for our community, we can use clothes (used or new), toys, school supplies, bedding, socks, shoes, Tupperware containers, toiletries (including hotel-sized shampoos and soaps), sewing materials, classroom materials like markers, pencils, pens, crafting paper etc. We host activities where donations like these are useful, and/or we find a use for them in our classrooms. Donations of new or used laptops, cameras and/or used cell phones are also highly value and serve us well here at the center.
Remember that living in a developing country has its challenges when sending and receiving anything of value (ie. cameras, laptops, etc.). Often we have friends and family that come throughout the year which enable us to most easily receive these types of gifts. Before you send something, please check with us first and we can let you know if there is a person traveling in the near future from Canada or the U.S. who can safely deliver your gift.
Thank you so very much for your partnership.
“As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.”
